Fabulous Beaches Bulgaria

The beaches of Bulgaria’s Black sea coastline stretch for 250 kms. The south is served by the international airport of Bourgas. The southern most resort is Sozopol a tranquil area with cliffs overlooking the calm sea. There are coves which provide superb sandy beaches. The actual village of Sozopol is a typical Bulgarian village, full of tradition. Further north you come across three totally diverse towns linked together around a beautiful bay.

Nessebar, a world heritage site is a small fishing village. Its history goes back to the 2nd century, its narrow streets are full of contrasts housing up to 40 historic churches and monasteries. At night the town squares are full of tourists enjoying many bars and restaurants. The tourists come from the neighboring town Sunny Beach. Sunny Beach is the most famous of Bulgaria’s beach resorts. Its cosmopolitan atmosphere is created by luxury hotels, new residential developments, numerous bars, restaurants and clubs.

The beachfront is full of high quality beach clubs where you can lounge in huge sofas and sun beds, sip a cocktail and take in the views. Whilst this is a very busy town, many developments are being constructed just a few kilometers away at the fringe of fantastic forests and countryside providing the residents with a choice of tranquility or within 10 minutes the bustle of the beach.

Next to Sunny Beach is the small town of St. Vlas. This is a quieter, more residential area, enjoying sensational views across the bay of Sunny beach.

As you leave this area you take the coastal road north. During your journey you will be travelling through huge forests with the views punctuated by stunning sights of the sea. About 40 minutes away leave the main road and drive into Ozbor, a traditional town with excellent restaurants and, best of all, one of the best beaches on the coast. At this time there are only a few hotels spread along the beach. However, high quality residential developments are under way. These will prove to be an excellent investment as a fabulous marina is planned for the area.

Further north you arrive at the bustling and beautiful harbour town of Varna, home of the main international airport. A further short drive away brings you to the largest of the Northern resorts; Golden Sands. The beach of the resort stretches over some 4km with width of up to 100 metres. Almost the entire coast along the resort falls within the boundaries of the Zlatni Pyasatsi natural park. The area is famous for the purest sand on the Black Sea coast and also abounds with trees and bushes. Further north is the beautiful beach resort of Kavarna. The resort is focused around an attractive marina and beautiful sandy beach. The area is becoming very popular as championship golf courses, one designed by Gary Player, the other by Ian Woosnam and one more planned and under construction,  are all a short drive away from the resort.
